Microsoft released Hyper-V to manufacturing, about a month earlier than scheduled. I knew this was coming, as the Microsoft techies at my current project (XenDesktop on Hyper-V) told me all about it. Read more about it here.

You can download the update for the RC here. Or you can wait for July 8th when the update will come to Windows Update.

Today I was preparing for a proof-of-concept project in Italy. In this project we will deploy virtual desktops via XenDesktop on top of the Hyper-V hypervisor. One of the problems previously surrounding this deployment was the fact that the System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM) 2008 Beta didn’t support Hyper-V RC1 infrastructures. With the update that has recently been released, this limitation has been removed and SCVMM 2008 Beta now supports Hyper-V RC1.

You can get the update on the Microsoft Connect site.
