Born in Afferden, a village in the southern areas of The Netherlands, in 1977. After a quiet life there, I went to study at Leiden University. First in the field of Computer Science, which was no success, then in the fields of Public Administration and Political Theory. Currently working on finishing my final thesis, but since I’ve moved to the United Kingdom this has become less of a priority.
During my time at Leiden University I started working as a systems engineer at a small IT company. Putting my career in IT over my studies made my stay at the university a lengthy one, but made it possible for me to join Citrix Systems in December 2007. Switching jobs also made it neccessary to move to London, where I currently reside in Brentford. At Citrix I’m part of the EMEA SE team, where I’m responsible for the technical readiness for the Application Virtualization products (primarily Citrix Presentation Server).
